A major regeneration landmark, The Stage is a multi-tower development set to be the first World Heritage site in East London with the reinstatement of an original Shakespeare theatre.

Cahill Design Consultants was commissioned to support CJ O’Shea Limited and Gardiner & Theobald to offer full fire engineering support services to ensure all buildings within the development comply with the functional requirements of building regulations and other guidelines. This includes requirements for evacuation, internal layout of rooms, fire alarm systems, building separation, fire services access, stair numbers and locations, occupant numbers, code compliant dimensions and sizes, building fire rating and minimum protection requirements as well as guidance and assessment of proposed cladding systems to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines. Extensive CFD Modelling was also undertaken.

CDC was also commissioned to support Gardiner & Theobald to offer specialist fire consultancy services to Building 7 for RIBA Stages 1-4. The construction phase for the development is well underway with an incredible technical site and design team carefully handling the complex interaction between new and existing build.

CDC also provided Acoustic review of the external facade to ensure internal noise levels were in line with British Standards and Employers Requirements.
