Ben is the MD and founder of Cahill Design Consultants. He has a successful track record of developing specialist engineering consultancies teams across the globe. Additionally, Ben has over 20 years’ experience working within Acoustics and specialises in Architectural Acoustic Design. He offers a holistic and pragmatic approach to design, enabling cost-effective and practical solutions to complex acoustic problems in a wide range of sectors including hospitality & leisure, residential, large master planning schemes, health care, schools, etc. He works as a project director ensuring the CDC service across our disciplines is to a high level of client satisfaction. As well as all this Ben is a talented musician; a husband and parent.

Mark is Head of Acoustics at CDC and has over 22 years of experience in the assessment of acoustics and vibration issues, including the specification of noise & vibration solutions. Mark has a special interest in sustainable design and works closely with design teams with the end users in mind.

Nick is a Principal Acoustic Consultant at CDC and has over 25 years of experience in the assessment of acoustics and vibration issues, including the specification of noise & vibration solutions. Nick has special interest in modern methods of construction having worked on projects employing several new building systems in recent times.

Bethany is the Operations Manager at CDC. Having studied philosophy at the University of Kent she quickly discovered a passion for the how and why. She joined CDC in 2020 with 3 years of experience in Brand management. She works closely with Ben and the rest of the team to help take the business to the next level.

Nicolas joined CDC as a graduate in 2019. He is a valuable member of our Acoustic team, with 3 years of experience in the assessment of acoustics and vibration issues, including the specification of noise & vibration solutions. Nicolas’ dissertation studied the Placebo effect of verbal and visual suggestions in Urban Soundscape perception’ and he hopes to study soundscapes around the world.

Gwen is a Principal Fire Engineer and has over 15 years of experience in fire consultancy roles, in addition to experience working within London Fire Brigade. Gwen has an excellent broad understanding of fire safety issues and is very experienced in the use of fire safety guidelines and standards. Gwen is experienced in code compliant designs with ADB, BB100, HTM, relevant British standards, UK fire engineering design guidance.

Alison joined the business in 2020 and is a Senior Fire Engineer. Alison had extensive experience working within London Fire Brigade (LFB) Fire Safety Team before joining the CDC Fire Engineering team. Alison has a high level of practical experience from her time at LFB, combined with a highly detailed understanding of fire safety standards and guidelines.

Hema has a Masters in management and has worked in various administrative and business support roles. She has experience as a team collaborator, client liaison and in data management. Hema’s exceptional communication and coordination skills strengthen the day-to-day running of the business as she works closely with both internal teams and clients, ensuring smooth operations at all times.

Rob has 9 years of experience in fire related work, with a broad understanding of fire safety issues and competency using fire safety guidelines and standards. Rob is experienced in code compliant designs with ADB, BB100, HTM, relevant British standards, UK fire engineering design guidance, and has knowledge of NFPA guidance. He is capable of applying the most appropriate combination of prescriptive guidance and novel fire engineered solutions to practical projects to meet life safety, property protection, business continuity, and sustainability objectives.

Philip joined CDC after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering alongside some great experience from internships too. He is committed to expanding his knowledge in fire dynamics and building resilience, contributing fresh ideas to projects.

Jake initially joined the business in 2022 as a Junior Fire Consultant after graduating from the University of Portsmouth with a BEng and MEng in Mechanical Engineering. Before joining CDC Jake travelled extensively, working in many different Countries along the way. In 2023 he moved to Dubai to gain further experience working as a Mechanical Engineer before rejoining CDC in 2025. He supports the wider Fire Engineering team to deliver a large range of projects.
