Credit Controller

Minimum 7 years’ proven credit control experience

Part-Time, 3 Days per Week / Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 pro rata

As a Credit Controller, you will play a key role in strengthening our financial operations. You will focus on reducing debt owed to the company, improving client payment times, and ensuring accurate project invoicing and account reconciliation. This is a part-time role (3 days per week), ideal for a skilled professional who enjoys both the detail of financial processes and the challenge of client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of credit control processes with a focus on reducing debt and improving payment times.
  • Monitor customer accounts and proactively identify accounts at risk of default.
  • Contact clients regarding overdue invoices, negotiating payment plans where necessary.
  • Manage project invoicing in line with client contracts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Carry out account reconciliations and maintain accurate client records.
  • Produce regular reports on debtors, aged receivables, and collection performance.
  • Work with internal teams and finance software to streamline processes and resolve discrepancies.

About You

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in credit control, with a strong track record of debt reduction and cash collection.
  • Excellent client management skills — professional, persuasive, and diplomatic.
  • High IT literacy with proven use of Xero, Outlook, Teams, and openness to using AI tools for efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in invoicing and reconciliation.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
