Building Surveyor

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Building Surveyor with at least 5 years’ experience to support our Principal Building Surveyor.

Hybrid position | £48,000 – £52,000 (dependent on experience | Full-Time, Permanent


We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Building Surveyor with at least 5 years’ experience to support our Principal Building Surveyor, who brings 20+ years of industry knowledge. You’ll be instrumental in delivering a range of surveying services to our clients and taking the lead on project work from inception to completion.

This is a client-facing role requiring someone who’s comfortable managing their own projects, building strong client relationships, and working across multidisciplinary teams. You’ll be involved in everything from technical reporting to project management and contractor coordination.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver a full range of professional building surveying services, including:

  • Condition surveys and defect analysis
  • Support in preparing feasibility studies and technical reports
  • Technical due diligence
  • Planned maintenance schedules
  • Dilapidations (both landlord and tenant)
  • Party wall matters
  • Contract administration and project management
  • Lead and manage small to mid-scale projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Prepare and review specifications, tender documentation, and reports
  • Liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Support the Principal Building Surveyor on complex or large-scale projects
  • Provide mentorship or technical guidance to junior team members where relevant
  • Ensure work complies with current regulations, standards, and internal QA processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in building surveying
  • RICS Chartered (MRICS) preferred or actively working toward chartership
  • Strong understanding of building pathology, construction methods and project delivery
  • Good knowledge of the Building Safety Act and its application in practice
  • Proven experience managing projects from concept through to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client relationship management abilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
